Dame Vera Lynn
Music helped to keep morale high in wartime and we could all use a little boost ourselves in these times of uncertainty.
With that in mind, there’s a nationwide sing-along to wartime classic We’ll Meet Again planned on Friday night – led by none other than Dame Vera Lynn herself.
The 103-year-old singer will perform from a window at her Sussex home just after 9 pm, following the Queen’s special address to the nation, and viewers are encouraged to join her.
It will form part of televised musical event VE Day 75: The People’s Celebration on BBC One from 8 pm.
